Plus Sized Underpinnings

My goal with La Grande Dame is to bring you beautiful, trendy, figure flattering styles that are actually made for our plus sized bodies. And, not to toot my own horn or anything, but, I think we do a pretty good job of it. The hard part now is figuring out what to wear under things.
I am exceptionally curvy and my 40Fs occasionally need a little “reining in”, especially under low cut tops and dresses. I love to wear beautiful camis to provide just a little bit of extra coverage in the cleavage region, plus, they give me a nice smooth body line under my clothes. Unfotunately, it is really hard to find these basics – I am forever seeking out camisoles, plain t-shirts and the ever elusive bra that is sexy, comfortable and supportive.
I spent all evening yesterday searching for pretty camis to wear under my dresses. Have any of you had success in that area? My Ideal camisole would have lace at the bust, be extra long so it doesn’t roll up on my tummy and it would come in a multitude of colors, not just the basic black, white and nude.
I did find one on J.Jill’s website:
What camis are you wearing?

It sounds like you want plain ones, I was going to suggest a crinkle cami I just saw that is long, has lace at the bust and comes in several colors from Lane Bryant. But the crinkles are probably not what you want if you want smooth. I haven’t seen them in person, but they do look pretty. They also have a couple of other camis, but I don’t think they look as long as the one from J.Jill. I could be wrong. I don’t need long in the body, but I need long because of the size of my bust. I’ve always thought the ones from J.Jill are nice though.
Ah, sounds like you and I are in search of the same thing! When I find some I like, I will buy all I can, as I am sure they will eventually be impossible to find!! Also, you are right, finding one in a variety of colors is difficult!
My fave cami is black though, haha, and is actually from the Delta Burke collection and I got it at Ross years ago, it is really a very light foundation garment, but has lace at the bust and looks pretty under everything from dresses to lowcut tunic tops, etc. I also got one a couple years ago in 2 colors (white and black again, lol) when I appeared on “How Do I Look?”, but they had no labels, so sadly I am unsure of their origin!
But I have found that the very inexpensive junior plus shops like Mode Plus carry long stretch camis in every color under the rainbow, but they are cheap for a reason, and do not always last too long, but for $5 I can just replace it if necessary.
I have one in light pink, hot pink, mustard, brown, wine, forest green, and navy.
