I know you all have a list of make up procedures and things that absolutely must be done regardless of how rushed you are getting ready to go out.  I really want to hear your beauty rituals…after I share Saturday night’s disaster.

Saturday night, my husband and I had reservations at a hot Italian restaurant Stella Alpina and I had spent way too much  time playing in my garden.  I wound up having 20 minutes to get ready and prepared since Catherine insisted that David take a picture of me in my Melissa Masse dress.

I opened my makeup drawer and a bottle of Clarins Self Tanning Gel popped into view.  dumdumdum…I know it is one of the best so what could be safer?   I squirted it out with a heavy hand, I thought, no problem, it’s early in the season and I need a lot of color.  I rubged it in as fast as I could while wielding the curling iron in my other hand.   David kept yelling “5 minutes”, “we have to be on the road in 4 minutes” and so on.  When will they learn that yelling only slows us down?

I looked beautiful, only 10 minutes late.

I kept believing that I looked awesome until I woke up at 3 am and realized I AM SO ORANGE AND STRIPPED!!  You should see my feet!!  Ack.  The next day my son in law started singing the Ompa Loompa song to me…jerk.

I have scrubbed twice with my Mary Kay Satin Hands exfoliater and I still look totally scary.

Luckilly, the tanner hadn’t developed yet when he took the picture.

What are your date night must dos?  How about disasters?  Is there anything that you JUST DON”T DO right before going out (you know, apply self tanner on glaring white skin?)
