Hourglass

On an hourglass body both the hip and bust are of equal size with a narrow waist. Body fat distribution tends to be around both the upper body and lower body. This body type enlarges the arms, chest, hips and rear before other parts, including waist and upper abdomen. It's all about proportion when dressing an hourglass body. Choose styles that accentuate you small waist without making your bust or bottom look large.

Look for:

  • Wrap styled tops and dresses that accentuate the waist.
  • V and scoop neck tops to show off cleavage
  • Belts
  • Tops that hit either above or below the widest part of the hip
  • Avoid crew neck and turtleneck styles that can make the upper body seem disproportionately large.
