La Grande Dame was founded by dynamic mother-daughter duo, Michelle Wood and Catherine Wood Hill to provide beautiful plus size clothes to women worldwide. Catherine and Michelle share a passion for fashion and have spent the last decade scouring stores across the country (and sometimes abroad) searching for stunning clothing and accessories designed for curvy bodies.

These shopping trips were often marred by tears in the dressing room and unkind words from sales people who “don’t have anything big enough” for Michelle. Petite Catherine could always find the perfect, fashionable, trendy clothing to fit her body type but unfortunately, size 18 Michelle, with the desire and the means to purchase those fabulous styles found that they didn’t come in her size.

Catherine and Michelle started La Grande Dame to ensure that larger women across the country have the opportunity to purchase designer clothing made for their curves. We are a designer plus sized clothing boutique for plus sized women passionate about trendy clothes and with a desire for high-end designer clothing. 

Our goal is to provide a unique shopping experience with hands on owners dedicated to excellent customer service and fit advice.
